On 11 June 2026, SMS hosted the “Formulating Success: From Regulatory & Trend Updates to Multifunctional Starch” forum, bringing together industry experts, researchers, regulators, and cosmetic professionals to exchange insights and practical solutions for advancing Thailand’s cosmetic and personal care industry in the global market.

Opening the event, Dr. Werawat Lertwanawatana, Chief Executive Officer of SMS Corporation Co., Ltd., highlighted the growing opportunities within the cosmetics and personal care sector and the role of tapioca starch innovations in supporting industry needs.

• Cosmetics Market Trends and Growth Opportunities by Supat Laorawat, Vice President of the Thai Cosmetic Cluster Trade Association (TCOS) and Managing Director of Skintec Interproduct, who provided insights into the current market landscape and future growth opportunities in Thailand and global markets. He emphasized that success in the cosmetics industry requires not only innovation but also consumer understanding, regulatory compliance, market intelligence, and agility in responding to rapidly changing market conditions. 

• Panel Discussion: Natural Ingredients for Cosmetics and Personal Care in Thailand, featuring Dr. Siwarutt Boonyaratanakalin, Assistant Innovation Director, SMS Corporation; Asst. Prof. Romchat Chutoprapat from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University; and Monsinee Jaitong, R&D Supervisor, Specialty Innovation. The discussion explored opportunities and challenges in commercializing natural ingredients, including quality consistency, safety validation, and regulatory compliance.
