On July 26th, TISTR, TBIA, Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, Double P Land Company Ltd., Tha Kham district, and Chachoengsao Province signed an MOU Ceremony supporting the R&D Innovation Project to implement the BCG model. The aim is to first launch the project by setting a target of 'Zero waste' in the Tha Kham district.

The highlights of this agreement are defined into 4 main goals; (1) promote ‘Zero Waste’ in the community and utilize waste for agricultural use, including improving the life’s quality of local farmers. (2) Assist in the research and development of renewable raw materials and waste for environmental sustainability. (3) maximize human resources and synergy efforts from multiple parties to achieve common goals.

SMS, as a thermoplastic starch manufacturer, has joined the project in the area of innovative starch solutions for sustainable products-TAPIOPLAST® for biodegradable bags. The company sponsored the biodegradable bags for organic waste and guaranteed full degradation within 90-120 days, leaving no residue but biomass such as water and CO2 in the environment.

The company is keen to be part of delivering a greener solution to our communities and promises to always encourage a bio-circular economy in our societies.
