Siam Quality Starch Co., Ltd., a member of SMS Group, organized the “High Quality and Productivity in Tapioca Roots: Cassava Mosaic Disease-Resistant Variety Propagation Project” in Chaiyaphum Province, bringing together approximately 150 cassava farmers to strengthen the foundation of a sustainable and resilient tapioca supply chain.

The initiative promotes the use of cassava mosaic disease-resistant varieties by providing disease-resistant planting materials to farmers free of charge. Alongside the distribution, the project provides practical knowledge on soil management, cassava cultivation, root quality, and starch content. By supporting farmers from the beginning of the growing cycle, SMS aims to help improve farm productivity and ensure the continuous availability of high-quality tapioca roots for starch production.

Together with the Chaiyaphum Provincial Agricultural Extension Office, SMS has also supported the development of disease-resistant cassava propagation plots across 15 districts in Chaiyaphum Province, helping expand access to quality planting materials within local farming communities.
