On May 7, 2025, SMS group proudly organizes our annual event, the 32nd Farmer Membership Day, at Siam Quality Starch Chaiyaphum Ltd. This annual celebration is a meaningful occasion dedicated to strengthening connections with our farmer partners—the backbone of Thai agriculture—and showing appreciation for their continued commitment to high-quality cassava cultivation that supports the entire supply chain.
The event features a wide range of engaging activities and educational booths, including lucky draws, a cassava exhibition, a “Big Cassava Root” contest, and highlights on Cassava Mosaic Disease (CMD)-resistant varieties. These activities not only aim to educate but also to give back to our farmer families with gratitude and rewards.
The ceremony is officially opened by Kangsadan Chatakul, Chaiyaphum Provincial Agricultural Office who presides over the launch of the farmer membership initiative. Throughout the event, farmers receive valuable updates and insights on cassava-related topics, such as the current market situation, CMD challenges, and price trends. These are presented by respected speakers including Dr. Werawat Lertwanawatana, CEO of SMS Corporation, together with Nattachai Wanglee, Managing Directors of Siam Quality Starch Ltd, Dr. Vicharn Vichukit (Board Member of the Tapioca Development Institute), along with key representatives from the government sector.
A warm and lively atmosphere filled the venue as SMS group staff and farming communities came together to celebrate the strong bonds we’ve built over decades. SMS group believes that our farmer partners are not only the origin of our innovations but also vital contributors to the value of tapioca, the agricultural pride of Thailand which supports food & pharma, paper and bio-plastic industries worldwide.
We are deeply grateful for the trust, dedication, and enduring partnership of our farmer families. As a global leader in modified tapioca starch, SMS group remains committed to promoting fairness, transparency, and continuous development for our farmer network sustainably.
